"A man and a woman share a seat. A second woman sits close by with her back towards them. There seems to be a tension in the air.
Do they know each other, or are they strangers. Why are they there? Is the man trying to talk to the woman next to him? Does the presence of the second woman prevent conversation?
I saw this group in Venice, Italy, and took some picture. The painting was developed, with much editing, from these images."
