"We were driving from Petaluma, in Northern California, to the coast. Upon entering Marin County we mouned the crest of a hill - and suddenly saw this dairy farm laid out before us. There was a beautiful old farm house, many farm buildings, and all surrounded by fields of grazing cows.
We stopped the car and took many photographs from which this studio painting was developed"
