"Service is slow. Everyone wants a complex order. But it is an opportunity to socialize. The legs and feet suggest that there many conversations and interactions going on as they wait.
We were sitting at a table near the waiting line. I became fascinated by their shoes. I pulled out my digital camera and with my hand close to the floor I took a series of photographs from which this painting was developed. I added the napkin (which has the imprint from someone's lipstick) to bring interest to the foreground."
