Mexican Plaza, 2007, Oil on Canvas, Triptych, Three panels each 18 x 36 in. Unframed with painted edges. Original Triptych: $4,860. To purchase this painting, please Contact Me.
"This sun drenched plaza is a public gathering place for all the region surrounding this old colonial town. It is a spot to relax, to bring the family, to eat, to shop, or just to meet and chat with old friends.
The vendors and entertainers mix with shoppers, families with children, and people hurrying about their business. In the center of the square is a statue to some long forgotten hero or notable from a time past.
With over 175 figures, their interactions stimulate the imagination.
These three panels have dozens of stories. It could be a scene from almost any Central American country. It was painted from many photographs I took while touring around Patzcuaro, in south-western Mexico, February, 2006."
