"A Retrospect of Figurative Watercolors on Paper," showing August 4 through August 29. Reception as part of the First Thursday Celebration, August 7, 2008.

Today I mostly paint figurative artwork in oil on canvas. But earlier I created a large body of watercolor paintings on paper.

This Retrospective consist of selected works reflecting examples of showing my evolving interest in the activities of people. People form the basis of all om my recent work.

This exhibit, from my own collection, shows examples of work from the period of 1999 to 2001, and reflects various human activities in the landscape.

Most works from this period were painted "en plein air," and finished up in my studio.

At this time, I was beginning experiments with my palette to find a few light-fast pigments from which to mix my colors.

These early investigations lead to today's limited palette, resulting in giving my current work its colorful backgrounds and bold painterly details.
